Business Reboot- Evaluate Your Time Management
Every few months, it’s a good idea to go back and review your time management skills to see if they have been beneficial. I know it feels like an extra thing to do, but if you keep doing things that are not efficient or effective over time you are losing time in your business. So, it’s better to look at things every few months and get a true understanding of what they are and what needs to be tweaked. This is just to be sure that you’re always on the most productive and progressive track for your business.
Don’t Go with The Flow – Schedule It
There are certain things that you need to do week after week that are part of your routine. The way to do those things most efficiently is by putting them on the calendar. Schedule them for the same time and place every week. You’ll always know when you’re doing a task at a certain time. Which means you are less likely to overbook yourself or let certain things fall through the cracks. When you have a set schedule you are much more likely to stick to it and not just go with the flow.
Say “No” to Multitasking
Multitasking might make you feel like a Superhero. But, is it really the best way to get things done in your business? Certain duties deserve a certain amount of time and focus. And when you focus on one thing at a time you tend to do it better. On the other hand, multitasking the performance and quality level tends to go down, when you are focused on doing multiple things at a time.
Optimally Organize Your Space
When your office space is cluttered it can be very stressful for you. How many times do you go looking for something simply because your space is too disorganized? You spend all that wasted time looking for documents and other things when you could have spent it on being more productive. When you have a well-organized space and everything has its place, it gives you a sense of order and productivity.
Automate as Much as You Can
You are so lucky to be living in the technology age. Explore the many opportunities available to automate the work duties and functions of your business. For billing, there are many subscription types of services that automatically bill your customers and create invoices. If there is an aspect of your social media campaigns that are not automated, you can put it onto a platform like “HootSuite” to help you streamline posting to all of your social media platforms. When it comes to your email list or newsletters you could use something like AWeber, to upload your emails and other messages to send out for dates in the future.
Take Time to Rest
Rest rejuvenates you. Rest pushes the reset button of your mind, emotions, and capacity. When you take time to rest, you also can tap into inspiration that you normally would not tap into while you are stressed out and working. It can help you go the extra mile in areas where you feel weary in your business. Rest can help you get a clear view of what’s actually going on with your business instead of viewing it through emotions.
