7 Client Attraction Methods Every Interior Designer Needs

When it comes to new client attraction we can swing from having no idea how to begin to having way too many options, and feeling overwhelmed. I would say having 5 to 7 outlets to pace yourself with is a good way to begin. The key IS pace yourself. As you peruse these 7 methods, pick the ones you feel most comfortable with first, and then move on to the others. Enjoy these momentum building tools!

First of 7 Methods:  Develop a Regular FB Live Show

If you desire to have optimal reach and engagement on Facebook, then doing regular live shows to draw in your audience will do just that! Facebook Live is said to have the highest level of engagement, receiving ten times more comments than other forms of interaction on Facebook.

Choose topics that make your expertise shine!

2.  Book Podcast Appearances

Podcasts appearances are said to be a “smart marketing” strategy. It is one of the best ways to leverage people’s time and attention. The Pew Research Center data on Libsyn (the largest commercial podcasting company) has seen a steady increase every year in hosted podcasts being produced.

Basically, this is becoming a “thing” and there are many voids to fill while podcast popularity is on the rise! Let your voice of expertise fill that void.

Let me just mention, that a 20 to 40-minute podcast can open the door to having your message heard by hundreds to thousands!

3.  Targeted Speaking Platforms7 client attraction methods every interior designer needs.

Just take a moment and think about all the places you have been in the past, to hear your favorite interior decorator or creative guru speak at. Past venues might include country clubs, libraries, and associations! Make a list of similar venues in your area and see about hosting your own event!

4.  Show Off Your Knowledge on DIY sites such as HOUZZ and…

DIY sites have been a craze for a few good years and the buzz around them don’t seem to be slowing down. The desire to be more hands on has been re-awakened in our culture! As interior decorators and interior designers, YOU have never stopped being hands on! So, you have the opportunity to show off your expertise and brand yourself on certain platforms, as an expert! Answer questions on these forums. Even pose new questions on these forums, to get fresh conversations going.

5.  Dominate Instagram Stories/LIVES

The power behind this method should be utilized immediately! Start by creating buzz around your stories or lives show. Post an announcement in your Instagram feed to look out for new stories. Give them the specific dates of when to expect your live broadcasts.

6.  Create a Solo Webinar/Joint Webinar

What particular expertise do you want to show off and feel most confident in? Create a solo webinar or joint webinar. This is a great way to expand your audience while cultivating your current followers. You will want to create a landing page just for this webinar. Landing pages for webinars are strategic because it gives visitors only one thing to look at and not be distracted by everything else on your main website. It should detail the exact topics of discussion. Tantalize them with what they have the opportunity of learning!

7.  Create Short Videos with Tips and Post to YouTube/FB/Google+/your own website

When I say short, I mean short like 2-5-minute videos! One strategy that is effective in “knocking” them out is to do a bunch in one time slot. For example, have your topics outlined in advance. Have a few different shirts to change into and record 5 to 7 videos in one swoop! You can upload them once a week to keep your audience engaged in just a few minutes out of their day!

There is a lot of information out there on this topic, that it’s easy to feel overwhelmed in where to begin. This seven-step guide can take you a long way! What do you think (comment below)? Which one will you start with? What have you already tried that is working for you?
